One Properties in Edmonton, Alberta was working with a prospective tenant for one of their many commercial properties. In order to finalize the lease, the tenant required the ability to access the warehouse with equipment, but there was no existing ground level access. The building had a 14’ dock door that was perfectly suited, but there was no time to pull permits and construct a permanent ramp. Together with One Properties, Nation Ramps designed a ground to dock ramp that met all of their demands to win the contract. Once the contract was awarded the ramp needed to be designed, manufactured, delivered and installed before the end of the current month.
The solution was a Nation Ramps 10-foot wide ground to dock ramp, combined with industrial handrails to support pedestrian traffic. Having worked with commercial building owners and construction companies, we understood the required deliverables.
Prior to beginning the manufacturing process, our engineering team produced drawings for discussion and approval. Once One Properties and the tenant were satisfied and signed off on the design, we engineered, manufactured, delivered and installed the heavy duty ramp in their Edmonton location before the end of the month.

Canada Post in Oliver, BC needed to improve efficiency and expand their access to an existing, older building. At the same time they were required to meet the updated safety standards, including BC Building and CPC Accessibility Codes. Canada Post required a ramp to go from grade to dock level. With the increase in eCommerce parcels, they needed the ability to safely move carts of packages from the dock to waiting postal trucks at ground level. Along with the ramp they also needed a new stairway for employee building access. With the extreme climate in Oliver, BC they also needed a durable finish that would look good for many tough winter and summer seasons. Together with Canada Post, Nation Ramps designed a unit that met all of their demands to win the contract. Once the contract was awarded the ramp needed to be designed, manufactured, delivered and installed within a six-week window.
The solution was a custom Nation Ramps ramp, platform and stairway design that integrated with their existing dock and building access points. Having worked on many government projects, we knew the demands for performance and quality required for this Canada Post project.

For Canada Post, a Nation Ramps custom ramp, platform and stairway solution was the answer to fulfil their code and efficiency requirements. With 10,000 lbs. weight capacity, a 5’7”’ wide and 28’ long ramp, combined with a 6’ wide and 5’7” long platform. The ramp was coated in non-slip material and built with a 1-12 gradient to meet local building code requirements. Along with the highly specific design specs the unit needed to be galvanized to handle the climate specific to Oliver, BC. Tuttle Construction contacted Nation Ramps after being awarded a renovation opportunity with Birchwood Foods. Tuttle needed to occupy the loading dock area as well as off-load equipment and materials. Due to the volume of the business, Birchwood could not afford to be without a loading dock during the renovation project. Main Event Fun Games came to Nation Ramps with the need of improving efficiency and safety. Being in the event business means that they are often working in the early morning or late at night. They were concerned with ramp visibility and safety of their staff using the ramp when lighting and weather conditions were less than ideal.

CASE STUDY: NATION RAMPS CREATES A SOLUTION FOR AGRISOL EQUIPMENT
Recently Nation Ramps had the pleasure of working with Agrisol Equipment, who came to Nation Ramps an immediate challenge of unloading equipment from containers.
Agrisol Equipment’s facility had no loading dock to unload equipment from containers. Agrisol Equipment was also looking for a mobile option, that’s when Nation Ramps stepped in.
Agrisol decided to expand their range of equipment and this meant that they were now ordering product shipped from overseas via container. Their facility was never designed to receive and off-load 20’ and 40’ containers. Depending on the size of container and the equipment received, they also needed the ability to quickly reposition their portable loading ramp.
The Nation Ramps solution was a new MYR20K-34×96-50A, mobile yard ramp. Agrisol required the ramp to be delivered within a short window, prior to the first container arriving. Our factory team quickly responded and put the unit into priority production, understanding our clients needs and responding to deliver the ideal solution within the tight time frame.
The MYR20K can easily handle most standard vehicle loading and unloading requirements. With easy setup and positioning, you have a portable loading dock anywhere you need it. Engineered to exceed capacity levels, Agrisol wanted a solution that could quickly be moved around their dealership as needed and handle the large variety of equipment they sell. Nation Ramps had the recent opportunity to work with Commercial Interior Construction (CIC), from Kingsville, MD. They came to us with the need for creating ground to dock access for one of their clients. Their client required vehicle access to an older building and the solution needed to be timely. They did not wish to pull permits or have a permanent ramp; this is where Nation Ramps was able to supply our proven ramp solution and reputable service.
CIC’s client runs a carpet and flooring business in Linthicum Heights, Maryland and contracted CIC to complete an interior renovation on their brick structure. CIC’s main job was to improve the overall interior and increase efficiency of their existing premises. Nation Ramps’ Ground to Dock (GTD) ramp was chosen by CIC to transform the existing grade level dock to allow for loaded diesel truck access. They required a custom solution to fit with the lower 42” dock height and a ramp that was 10’ wide. CIC required delivery within two weeks to meet their committed completion date.
The ideal solution for Commercial Interior Construction’s client was a custom Nation Ramps Ground to Dock GTD18K-27X120-S. This was a modified version of our proven, narrower, standard model, modified to fit the needs of CIC’s client. The ramp was engineered to fit the width of their dock door opening, with enough capacity to handle the daily use by loaded diesel delivery trucks. Nation Ramps was able to complete the construction in our Winnipeg, Manitoba manufacturing plant and have the ramp delivered to Lithicum, MD within two weeks. Due to the design of the building, a local crane service was hired to off-load the tractor-trailer and place the GTD unit. The Nation Ramps custom ramp solution was installed and in daily use one day earlier than required.
